Student Book Design
For my book design, I chose the topic of New Orleans cemeteries. I've always been fascinated with cemeteries, funeral customs, mourning traditions, as well as the City of New Orleans. I wanted to create a book that merged the two and wanted to give visitors to the city an insight into the culture of the city.
As this was a project for school, I did not write most of the material or take most of the pictures, the project was focused on the design, layout, research, information organization, typography, and formatting of a book. I did however, make all the maps shown, take some of the photographs during my own visits, and write a few of the sections myself.
