Leaf Design
Visit environments with leaves and find a leaf that is attractive to you focusing on the lines, shapes, textures, and/or colors. Photograph the leaf at different complex angles: straight on, from above, below, and the side. Using the photographic examples of your leaf, complete graphite renderings of the leaves you would like to continue to develop. Design a visual object based on your leaf photos. Explore different visual elements to represent your leaf: point, line and curve, shape, and texture. Merge as much, or as little, of each sketch as necessary to make the most successful aesthetic form.
